SPEECH & LANGUAGE PATHOLOGY SERVICES PROVIDED

ASSESSMENT

Initial Consultation (90 minute session)           from $377.50 to $382.50  

The initial consultation is for 90 minutes. This consultation allows the therapist to gain background information about your child and to screen your child’s current speech and language skills. Information is gathered by discussing your child’s birth, developmental and medical history, as well as your observations/concerns about your child’s speech and language skills. How the therapist screens your child’s current skills depends on your child’s age. For younger children this may involve observing your child playing with you. For older children the therapist may administer screening tests/begin formal testing.

A 90 minute (initial) consultation is usually sufficient for the assessment of:

  • Stuttering

  • Articulation (Speech)

  • Straight forward expressive language delay

Subsequent Assessment Consultations (60 minute sessions)   $235

The therapist will inform you if a more comprehensive assessment is required and how many sessions this will entail and the cost. The number of assessment consultations required will vary depending on your child’s age and the type of communication difficulty.

Two or three consultations are usually required for the assessment of:

  • Receptive and Expressive Language Disorders

  • Speech Sound Disorders

  • Literacy Learning Difficulties

A kindy/school visit may be required as part of the assessment process.  This will only occur with your permission and if it is felt this will be of benefit for a more comprehensive assessment of your child’s skills.

TREATMENT

Speech, language and literacy therapy for children 6 years and older                                                $235

(1 hour session)

REPORTING

Report lengths vary depending on area assessed                                         $235 per hour

APPOINTMENT POLICY

If, for some reason you need to cancel or postpone the appointment, please provide at least 48 hours notice, otherwise you will be charged the cost for the session.
